This is about Stacie and Tom's life together in Marquette, Michigan. We moved here in September 2001 with no jobs, and no place to live (except hotels, lol). We love it up here, and in each post you'll read new and old stories about us!

Tuesday fun

We had a surprise visitor last night. My cousin Kim and Charlie and their daughter Reilly were in town. They have a camp in Curtis, that's where they're staying for the week. Anyways, after work we all went out to the Shamrock ate dinner n' drank and pitcher after pitcher of Labatts. Cousin Charlie made sure our drinks were always full :)

So, we were talking and Kim said that Uncle Bill (my dad's youngest brother) mentioned we should have a family reunion! We're planning on actually doing it! It will take place next year at Kim and Charlie's place in Curtis. It should be super fun and we'll see lots of people we haven't seen in YEARS.

Like everyone else, getting sick of the high gas prices.

The house thing should be final in a couple of weeks. Gotta wait for the appraisal to be done and then a week later we should be in.

almost there

Keeping fingers crossed...
loan is in processing right now.
If things go smoothly, we could be moved in shortly after September 15th.
By the way, if anyone sees a used snowblower at a garage sale (and are able to bring it to us) let me know. We are gonna need one seriously.

Work has been ok. Could be busier, but for this time of year with school starting up, it's usually medium busy.

I been hiding, i know.

I've been wanting to write in here, but the only thing I really want to talk about is this house we are trying to get. But, I also don't want to get my hopes up too much. We've put in an offer and they have accepted! I've been pre-approved for the loan, but I'm still nervous things won't go through... I think it will go through, but it's the waiting...

The house is on 10 acres., 1800 square feet. has a loft. two car garage, with an unfinished room above it. Fireplace nook. 3 bedrooms. 2 bathrooms.

So, before I talk about this place anymore, I'm going to wait til we have been totally accepted for financing.

Flying to Breckenridge

I just got back from my annual mother/daughter trip. Each year me, my mom (Anita), Aunt Diane and Cousin Holly, and Aunt Suzie and cousin Caryn all go somewhere different for a short vacation. This year it was Breckenridge, Colorado and we flew there... It's not that I hate flying, it's more about the taking off and the landing, with all the noises and seeing the wing...

But, I'm back on ground now and here's our trip.

Friday the 5th. My mom and I flew into Denver (I made my mom fly with me) and from there we met up with everyone. We rented a car -Cadillac Deville was the biggest car they had- and barely fit all our luggage in the trunk. This was a nice car, but from the beginning we had troubles with it. When they got the car and driving down the highway, they noticed the hood bouncing. Sure enough, the hood wasn't in lock position. Ok, fine. Fixed that. Then we start heading to Breckenridge and the "Check Coolant" light flicks on. So we call Alamo and they said to see if there's enough fluid in the car. Come on~we're women. So we go to a gas station and ask a nice man if he could check our coolant. He does, but the lid is stuck, so even if we wanted to we couldn't put fluid in the car. The car ran fine the whole trip, but then on the end of the trip, bringing the car back... the check tire pressure light come on... silly car.

Saturday the 6th. Waking up in Breckenridge at 9,603 feet felt like a bad hangover the first morning. But it didn't stop us from shopping! I got Tom a black Breckenridge t-shirt and for myself a t-shirt and sweatpants. It is a very touristy town, so they had lots of souveniers.
We went to dinner at the Hearthstone http://www.hearthstonerestaurant.biz/. Probably the best restaurant there - Even though there were ALOT of great restaurants. Aunt Suzie's boss (It's his condo we stayed at too) gave her $300 to go to eat at this place. There's a picture of all of us sitting around the table.

Sunday the 7th. Driving to Wilderness Peak. I think we were at 11,000 feet when we got there.
We drove through South Park - I thought that was cool. We stopped at this little consignment shop and I got a fun top from there. There's a picture of me wearing it with my cousins on either side of me. That night we ate at the Blue River Bistro http://www.blueriverbistro.com/. I had the bestest yummiest meal with angel hair pasta, artichokes, sundried tomatoes, huge garlic cloves, and tofu.

Monday the 8th. We cleaned the condo and started our drive back to Denver. BUT, before we head to the airport we made a stop at Old Navy and REI. I soooo wanted to buy a bunch of camping equipment but I didn't have room in my suitcase, so I just got a few small things.
My mom and I got back to Marquette at 2:00 am. Back to work Tuesday...
