This is about Stacie and Tom's life together in Marquette, Michigan. We moved here in September 2001 with no jobs, and no place to live (except hotels, lol). We love it up here, and in each post you'll read new and old stories about us!

another UP 200 come and gone

We watched the UP 200 Sled dog races again this year. http://www.up200.org/
I loved it! I totally want to try mushing one time in my life.
There's a place in McMillan (that's near Munising) that offers rides AND OVERNIGHT RIDES.
That's the one I want to do. http://www.natureskennel.com/2daytrip07.html
Oh my gosh, I want to do that. I want to do it so much that I start to hyperventilate when I think about it.

the unhappy homeowner

this morning we woke up to the furnace broken and the house was 45 degrees!
First we thought we were out of propane. So, I called them to fill the tank, but the tank had 20% fuel still in it...
Second, we called the furnace people and they came right away.
The furnace guy said "Looks like it just needs to be cleaned out, lots of soot accumulating." yadda yadda yadda. So, he did just that to a tune of $160.
Turns out, that didnt fix the problem, the unit still gets too hot and trips itself out.
It needs a whole new part, I forget what part it was but he says "We have to order that part." they're next day-airing it.
This is fun, especially when daytime temps are -10 degrees!!!
OH, yeah, it ups the price to $600.

friends from the old days

I've been finding all kinds of friends from my college/high school days thru MySpace.
Hi everyone! :)
Anyways, I had one visit on Friday!! She came all the way up from the Detroit area.
It was LIZ.
I saw her last in 1995 when she left Kalamazoo, for California.
Man, was it a blast to catch up with her. It was fun trying to remember people's names and events that happened. Lots, of which I had forgotten. Where the hell did those memories go?
I guess if you don't think about those times and let them live alone in the past they stay there.
In order to keep that stuff alive in your mind you can't let those friendships fall to the wayside.
I'm just glad to know my friends are all having good lives and to be back in contact with them.

We went for a snowshoe Saturday morning up behind our house.
It was really cold that morning but we got a pretty good workout climbing up the snowy hill.
Liz, also got to meet my husband and Perry (the dog) and Indi (the cat).
I wish i would've gotten some pictures while she stayed but... damn I didn't
next time!
